Abstract
In this paper, I reflect on the potential for growth in the Knowledge and Scholarly Thinking domain, identify subdomains that need to be developed, and create goals for professional development in this domain. General skills are crucial for managing subordinates, troubleshooting, selling ideas, and providing leadership to departments and businesses.
Keywords: Domain, subdomains, skills.
Professional Development Framework
Using what I’ve learned so far from this course and my own professional life, I can identify significant potential for growth within this domain. I continuously strive to find new growth opportunities to achieve long-term business success. Professionalism is an excellent quality to aspire to, as it enables you to perform your job to the best of your ability, impress and inspire others, and provides a deep sense of satisfaction and self-esteem.
The most challenging aspect of this course has been adjusting to writing at the doctoral level. Proper APA paper formatting has been a recent struggle for me, but with practice, I am learning the correct way to include and cite sources. The easiest part of this course was the detailed guidelines that helped me through different assessments. I know I need to continue working on my writing skills, though my biggest strength lies in my research abilities. I might not understand some concepts initially, but with thorough research, I can learn a lot.
Subdomains and Goals
Ontological Humility and Personal Branding are two subdomains I would like to further develop. For Ontological Humility, my goals include demonstrating that reality is correct, achieving the correct belief, and gaining acceptance from this domain. For Personal Branding, I aim to differentiate myself in the market and land my dream job. To achieve these goals, I plan on developing good habits and cultivating a positive mindset to stay persistent. Additionally, I will invest significant time in researching my options.
Reflecting on My Chosen Specialization
Reflecting on my chosen specialization in the Doctor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership and Development program will be a new learning experience. The practical aspect of the program will be beneficial, providing opportunities to apply the knowledge gained through discussions, research, and self-study. To succeed in doctoral studies, I must be self-managed, motivated, and highly focused, as I am ultimately responsible for my success. This degree aligns perfectly with my ambitions in the business world, offering new perspectives on business. Reflecting on past experiences with employers has guided me towards pursuing a career I love. Many of us believe there is only one ideal job for us, but in reality, several satisfactory options exist.
