Nurses have a primary role in nursing homes, ensuring that the elderly are well taken care
of. They ensure that patients maintain the required hygiene level and are given the necessary
nutrition. Additionally, they monitor vital signs, give intravenous administrations, administer
medication and draw blood. While administering care in nursing homes, nurses are guided by
several ethical considerations and policies. Furthermore, healthcare reforms that support care
coordination and enhance the quality of patient care have been implemented. These policies and
regulations include ACA and HIPAA. However, some of these policies raise ethical dilemmas,
challenging nurses to coordinate care. Therefore, the workers at nursing homes should be aware
of the nursing code of ethics, which will act as a guide in solving ethical dilemmas
