Evaluation of the differences between leadership and board governance in establishing strategic planning for a health care organization.
One of the differences between leadership and governance in establishing strategic planning for a healthcare organization is that leadership focuses on creating a sense of direction and making vital decisions that impact operations within the healthcare facility, whereas the board of governance is in charge of implementing strategic policies within the healthcare organization and creating the right collaborations with stakeholders involved in the strategy. Another difference is that leadership includes identifying opportunities that can be considered to improve the quality of care provided to patients, whereas the board of governance includes ensuring that laws, structures, and policies are observed when completing tasks within the healthcare organization.
