How I fulfilled the role of Scientist, detective, Manager of the healing environment during the BSN program:
As a detective, a nurse is expected to utilize his/her clinical imagination alongside nursing science to identify deviations and changes from what is expected so that adverse outcomes can be controlled or prevented. As scientists, nurses are expected to take part in scientific inquiry with the sole purpose of critiquing, implementing, and disseminating evidence as well as informing healthcare decisions to influence practice (Lynch & Duval, 2011). Lastly, as managers of the healing environment, it is the role of the nurses to advocate, coordinate, and create interdisciplinary and respectful environments that acknowledges the dignity of patients and their families experience in addition to promoting their optimal well-being. During my program at the WGU, I mastered the roles of a nurse as a scientist, Detective and Manager of Healing environment as detailed. My role as a Scientist
