My interview will involve Mrs. Angela as my interviewee. She is a pediatric nurse at a hospital that provides care for expectant mothers and young children. Mrs. Angela ensures that children are well catered for by evaluating, and treating them. Mrs. Angela performs the pediatric function in conjunction with other medical specialists. She is constantly at the fore when it comes to highlighting patient safety and superior treatment. This interview's goal was to draw attention to the challenges and issues that outpatient treatment for women and children faces. The main theme of conducting this research is to come up with solutions to the current challenge, promote patient outcomes and ensure patients are contented with the services provided. The fact that opportunities are many for pediatricians, the value of those choosing pediatrics has not increased.There is growing concern due to the likelihood that pediatric healthcare professionals won't be able to adequately perform their professional duties, including advocacy, education, and crucial clinical tasks. She gave me the go-ahead to gather information, so I did so using surveys, observations, and other methods like recording. Issues Identified The main challenge discovered from the interview is that there is a shortage of pediatricians in the health care setting. The shortage of pediatricians has resulted in overcrowding in the hospital as patients look for services. This challenge results in delayed services in the hospitals. Another issue that the patients voiced worry over was the lengthy wait periods for services. Even making an appointment in order to receive service on time is required. An interdisciplinary strategy can be used to address the problem of a shortage of workers, leading to the delivery of high-quality services in the healthcare institution.
Change Theories That Could Lead to an Interdisciplinary Solution Transitions have been there in health care facilities; in order to obtain a competitive edge, they must accept these changes and make the necessary adjustments. The difficulties these changes bring about also give rise to new opportunities. Any company experiences ongoing transformation. Due to the multiple external stresses they face, healthcare institutions have had to change. Transition in any organization makes take different directions like change in leadership style, resource allocation, and the number of workers. The workforce employed in an organization contributes much to achieving an effective system. To attain this competent workers should be employed. Hospitals are designed in a specific way. Medical personnel must focus on managing and caring for patients without worrying about their fellow employees. Medical professionals are required to follow the standards, principles, and laws set up to govern how the healthcare sector is run in order to decrease the incidence of disregard for others. Hussain et al., (2018) claim that the driving forces, restraint forces, and balance or equilibrium are the three elements that support the change hypothesis. The driving forces behind change are referred to as driving forces. Patients will be motivated to change after adequate information has been given to them to make judgments. Working against the pushing forces are the restraining forces. They undermine the transformation by removing the patient from it. The two forces—the driving and restraining forces—must be equal to achieve balance (Hussain et al., 2018). Equilibrium is determined by the two forces, therefore reducing or raising it will depend on how powerful the two forces are. According to Lewin, the idea includes three important phases: unfreezing, movement, and refreezing (Hussain et al., 2018). The unfreezing process requires the development of a method to persuade people to stop taking part in detrimental activities. When a person has decided to make a step movement is said to have occurred. It is the
process that enables someone to go from unhelpful habits to productive routines. Refreezing converts an unusual activity into "standard operating procedure." If you skip this step, the patient will revert to their old habit, thus it's really important (Milella et al., 2021). Interdisciplinary collaboration is vital in ensuring that the departments affected by the challenge are assisted. To come up with an excellent forecast, the Plan- Do- study-Act (PDSA) will be employed. A comprehensive approach will aid healthcare workers in assessing how effectively they treat patients.
