NURS FPX 4030 Assessment 2 Determining the Credibility

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is an effective strategy with which a healthcare institute can get tons of knowledge regarding illnesses and treatment which improves the quality of care services. For the implementation of an appropriate plan, there is a need to set some standard or criteria for model implementation which will make the application of the EBP plan successful. For better execution of an evidence-based approach for the best healthcare services, IOWA model is a well-suited and appropriate model. It provides the direction or pathway of the implementation for better, safe, and quality healthcare (Cullen et al., 2022).  The IOWA model is a standard or criteria for EBP for all healthcare providers for maternal and neonatal care.

The Quality Or Safety Issue That Can Benefit From Evidence-Based Practices

Maternal and neonatal care is a specific area of attention in the USA as compared to other countries. In the USA, many women give birth at home, some at birth centers, and others in the healthcare centers. Females are handled by different healthcare providers and these providers are accredited, trained, equipped, and licensed in different ways (Backes & Scrimshaw, 2020). Maternal and neonatal care in the USA can be strengthened by an evidence-based approach to postpartum care and the psychological well-being of the mother. Many studies have validated that women experience many changed emotions and require special care in the pre-and post-delivery time period. Particularly, new mothers need assistance in breastfeeding and performing physical tasks. Some common mistakes and lack of care from the healthcare side, stop new mothers from breastfeeding (Rahnemaie et al., 2019).
