Good afternoon, Mr. Anderson,

My name is Emma Watson, the Project Manager of CapraTek’s current Alfred software update project. I am reaching out to you regarding a potential professional development activity that CapraTek’s project teams and I will be organizing and attending. The development activity will focus on discussing innovative ideas, practices, and technologies that improve communication among global teams, with a particular emphasis on the use of communication platforms such as social media. After consulting with various stakeholders and executive sponsors from previous professional development activities, I believe you would be an excellent sponsor for this event. I would like to know if you would be available to attend the activity on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022, and if you would be willing to sponsor the event.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual social interactions across all social media platforms have surged by 42%, particularly in the U.S. (Statista, 2021). Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, and video platforms such as Houseparty, Microsoft Teams, and FaceTime have played a pivotal role in this increase. Consequently, training on these platforms has been highly sought after, not only by CapraTek but by companies worldwide. Customers are engaging with social media daily, and training on communication platforms is essential for global companies to stay relevant. This training will not only address limited social interaction risks but also enhance sales opportunities and facilitate easier customer and employee engagement.

Global companies have been facing issues, including the need for virtual assistants, new technologies for team applications, increased customer use of social media platforms, and digital security solutions (Zamolo, 2022). By leveraging communication platforms, businesses can address these challenges and drive growth for their global project teams. Currently, 65% of businesses are using social media to generate more leads over time (Bhattacharya, 2021). These platforms help build global brands and increase engagement with potential customers. According to Ambassador, “71% of consumers who have had a good social media service experience with a brand are likely to recommend it to others” (Bhattacharya, 2021).

For companies to provide successful social media services to their customers, initiating conversations with potential customers on social media is crucial. This approach allows businesses to identify their target audience and determine which platforms are most effective for their operations. For example, is Instagram or Facebook driving more engagement? Regardless of the platform, global companies can promote their brand and establish their presence across major social media platforms, ultimately expanding their reach.

During the event, we will delve into these topics in detail. One example of a global company that has successfully leveraged social media after attending professional development activities like ours is Olaplex. The haircare brand has significantly boosted its social media presence, particularly on TikTok and Instagram, after the COVID-19 pandemic. Olaplex grew its Instagram following from 1.4 million to 2.2 million and gained 55.4 thousand followers on TikTok through paid ads, hashtags, and engaging content (Monillos, 2021). Olaplex’s social media success story will also be a key discussion point at the event.
