Online courses have eased the process of acquiring education. Without having to go to school, a person acquires knowledge from wherever they are, and however they prefer. Online courses satisfy individuals’ desire and longing to acquire knowledge. High school students can also take online classes depending on their interests. Most high school students lose interest in the learning process around that time of their lives; online courses can be good for them by using it to motivate them and bring their desire to learn back. Therefore, high school students should take online courses before graduation.

Online courses induce the drive to learn in high school students (BERNAT, 2019). As students go through the normal schedule in school, it creates monotony. Consequently, this monotony induces disengagement from learning in the students. The lack of desire to study can be driven out through the introduction of online courses. Furthermore, an introduction to something new poses a challenge and reduces the monotony of their everyday lives. Subsequently, a new challenge will spike their desire to learn and bring back their motivation to gain knowledge.

Online courses lead to the acquiring of more knowledge. As students take online courses, they obtain new knowledge and skills that will benefit them. Consequently, these skills will increase the probability of releasing successful students. Moreover, students can gain extra credits for the courses they’ve studied. Online courses will, therefore, lead to all-around competent students. It also will boost the students’ GPA when credit is given. Online courses will, therefore, be of significant help to high school students.

Online courses give an individual the option to choose. A student can choose the course to study, where and when to study. With the availability of the Internet, students can choose what they prefer to study and when. In this perspective, a student will probably pick a course that they are passionate about. This passion will lead the students to discover what they are really passionate about. This discovery will lead them to discover the things they are really passionate about. Subsequently, the effect is an all-round professional who is qualified to serve.

Despite all these positive effects of online courses, it might not apply to all the students. When online courses are mandatory, there are students who might not be exactly good at it. Instead of gaining, they might lose. Losing is in terms of credits and the lack of desire to learn. These students might get a negative impression of learning by being forced to learn new things every day. Imposing these changes on teenagers who are already adapted to their regular schedules will lead to some form of rebellion against the new system. In their rebellion, the students will probably not perform as well.

Mandatory online courses will lead to the resignation of some students. Despite having their regular classes in high school, additional courses will appear to be a burden to some students. Some of these students might prefer to drop out of school altogether. The students might feel as though their responsibilities are weighing down on them. Some students who can’t access the internet all the time might also face the challenge of not being able to access their online courses. Moreover, this unavailability will lead to the failure of the courses, and that will have a negative impact on their perspective of the education system.

In conclusion, online courses will have a majority of positive effects as compared to negative impacts. Online courses will broaden a high school student’s options on the course to pursue in university studies.
