Researching Process

The paper under scope is an advocacy paper; its research process began with looking at controversial topics within the United States of America. Having identified the issue of gun laws, the research process looked at how the issue has affected the country in terms of choosing a stance on the issue. It is then that I choose to advocate for stricter gun control laws. Researching material for the paper involved the utilization of the CRAAP framework. This is in relevance to how current the article to be used is, how relevant the source material is, the sense of authority that the source material has, the accuracy of the source material, and the purpose of the source material in relation to the topic being studied.

Formatting

In finding information on formatting, Purdue Owl, which is an online website meant to guide students on how to format their academic work, came in handy. Out of utilizing the website, I came to learn how to parenthetically cite in-text citations and the order of arrangement of the paper, as well as plugging in page numbers and surnames on the page header of each page. I also learned that this format is mostly used in literature work or English subjects, amongst others.

Review of the Whole Process

Generally, writing the advocacy paper was particularly an interesting engagement. Despite being stuck from time to time during the actual process of writing, resilience and research helped in unsticking me. Additionally, I learned how to format my papers in MLA format and plug in the in-text citations. However, I cannot still be able to correctly plug in the actual citations according to their order on the works cited page. Despite trying to learn over and over, not only do I need more help in the same, but I also found this to be the most challenging aspect of the essay.
