Based on the Chinn and Kramer model for theory evaluation and reflection, Henderson’s Theory of Basic Human Needs contains practical value that can be applied to education and clinical practice in modern nursing (Chinn & Kramer, 2013). Because the theory being evaluated is a grand theory, it has a high level of abstraction that makes it applicable to any field in nursing practice. Due to it’s high level of abstraction, the theory is also generalizable (Meleis, 2018).
