Volunteer Experiences and the Importance of the GCU Website

Volunteer experiences provide first-hand experience with the practical aspects of nursing. Volunteering enables the visualization and application of theoretical aspects of nursing as it replicates actual nursing services. Volunteering, in this regard, provides a healthy boost to nurses’ self-confidence, life satisfaction, and self-esteem, which is necessary for professional nursing practice (McCauley et al., 2021). By executing nursing roles in a volunteer capacity, nurses also develop a natural sense of self-accomplishment and pride that further enhances their satisfaction with their care roles. The tutoring and career services for online students displayed in the GCU library are valuable sources of nursing information. The tutorials, writing templates, handbooks, and other educational resources on this site are valuable sources of nurse-specific content that enriches their knowledge base on nursing principles and theoretical provisions of nursing practice. Having frequent interactions with these resources and utilizing them to expand my knowledge base will help me during and after the completion of the program.
