My name is, and I will be graduating in May 2022 with a Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I plan to take the ANCC exam in June to be board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am extremely interested in working with underrepresented communities like the LGBT community in psychiatric medicine. I feel like these communities do not have adequate representation in mental health and are highly judged by providers. I hope to provide an atmosphere where all patients will feel free to share their history and feel comfortable in my office. I have almost five years of experience working as a nurse and prior to that I was a medic in the army for 8 years. I have been caring for people in some form since 2009.I will have 640 hours of psychiatric clinical hours working in outpatient settings upon graduation. I have interviewed, diagnosed, and treated patients throughout the lifespan under the supervision of a psychiatrist or LMFT
