Your personal leadership philosophy should include the following: The significance of nurse leadership in the delivery of superior care is indisputable. Influential leaders are able to effectively deliver positive outcomes for patients, ensure healthy working environments and retain and engage staff (Marie & Sarah, 2019). In order to obtain this level of excellence, it is important to recognize and cultivate strong nurse into powerful nurse leaders. Marie and Sarah (2019) report that clinical managers have repeatedly minimized the training of leadership; which has resulted in lesser nurse leaders able to accept leadership roles and execute successfully. To counterbalance these effects, nurses must be able to identify their personal missions and vision statements that reflect their views on characteristics that make a good leaders. Additionally, nurses must be able to identify core values of practice that they possess that reflects positive leadership qualities. This paper will provide a comprehensive appraisal of my leadership philosophies, core values and visions for practice. Additionally, this paper will explore my leadership strengths and weaknesses identified in the CliftonStrengths Assessment and a development plan to address leadership weaknesses.
