Acknowledging the Completion and Documentation of Nine Practicum Hours
I acknowledge that I completed and documented at least nine hours in CAP. I confirm that my faculty has approved these hours.
I fully understand that this is a critical institutional and regulatory requirement to successfully finish the course and the BSN program. I have been keen to ensure I fulfil every CAP requirement throughout my nursing practicum.
My nursing practicum has been a great learning experience. I got the opportunity to practically apply my nursing knowledge and skills to manage patient cases and events in real life. My practicum hours were focused on understanding patient cases, managing them, and developing interventions focused on improving the outcomes for both the patient and their families. My project focused on successfully developing and implementing an intervention for a female patient with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The entire period working with the AD patient helped me understand and appreciate the importance of communicating effectively, collaborating and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals, being a leader, and understanding how to manage change during care. I have learned how to integrate various types of technologies to monitor and deliver care to the patient, as well as collaborate with other patients during the delivery of coordinated care. I also ensured that I recorded and documented all of my practicum hours, experiences, activities, observations, and conclusions throughout the development and implementation of the intervention for the selected AD patient.
I am grateful for the support I received from the hospital, the institution’s faculty, and my preceptor for preparing me and supporting me to have the best capstone experience. I also appreciate the faculty’s approval of my practicum hours in CAP and for giving me the opportunity to have a great practical learning experience.
